Reporting the Project and payment Milestones - lite deployment

There is a requirement as below :

Tracking project milestones against time and payment so that At the project level users can view and report on the actual date that milestone happened vs the forecasted milestone.?

Is there any OOB workaround for this ? the only option I can think of is customisation and create a field for forecasted dates in which users record actual dates and forecasted milestone dates.

Appreciate the advice.
