I need your help

i am facing a problem

the problem is that when we create a sales order using any item (say Itemid =Test)

then without confirming the sales order ,what we do is , we only save the sales order data , the respective item it gets reserved(physically reserved) if we see the on hand inventory form

but this does not happens when we create the sales quotation...the item is not reserved in the inventory.....

how can we reserve the inventory when we just create the sales quotation..

its very urgent....need your help...

    You cannot, there is no committment with a sales quotation, only when the customer commits will it reserve stock.

    What is the commercial reason for using a sales quotation rather than a sales order when you load one?

    You could move stock to a quote warehouse when you load a quote, but I dont really see what you are trying to achieve.

    we have a requirement for 1 project , we first need to create the sales quotation ...

    we dont want to confirm the quotation and create a sales order from the quotation directly ....

    we want the inventory to get reserved (physically reserved for the item)..... then we want to create a batch process for a user defined time.....if by that batch specified time user does confirm the sales quotation or he cancels the sales quotation then,,,,that item quantity which gets reserved during that time is again available for use to create the quotation...

    thats our requirement

    Hi Vinay,

    Steven is correct. Your required functionality is not standard. It requires a customization or you can use a workaround. E.g. transfer goods to another warehouse/location or if you are using the inventory status dimension, you can setup a "quotation reserved" status. You have to transfer items or set the status manually and also reverse it manually in case of cancellation.
