Hey Elguage, in 2009 if you try to run any report, so if you have noticed ever the page counting start and the same time the preview, both works simultaneously,  but in later version from 2013 to 2018 if you preview the report, so first system gather all the data in cache and then preview.

Thanks Verma, but almost report at NAV 2018 take such a time to execute. For example, it takes me 1~2 second at NAV 2009 (generated complete), but in NAV 2018, at least 30 seconds to preview.

May be I need more time to get used to NAV 2018 : D

    Hi  elguaje,

I have same as yours: same report take 1 second in NAV 2015 and in NAV 2018 take about 26 seconds. I added StartTime and EndTime before/after the line Report.SaveAsPDF(RpeortId, Filename, Record) to get time-consuming.

If you already fixed your issue or any one know how to fix it, please advise. Thanks.

    hi,

As known NAV 2009 generate report while previewing, and NAV2018 will gather all data then generate report. that's why NAV2018 looks slower than NAV 2009.

one more point, NAV2018 will make layout report base on user printer's information. It will take time for waiting respond from user printer (from local send back to server).

you can set default printer to PDF for faster preview (but you have to select printer every time you want to print to paper)

that's what I know until now.

please share if you have any information.

    Thank you.

    Hi  elguaje,

    Thanks for your reply.

    cloudblogs.microsoft.com/.../

I followed the instruction in the link above to change

    <NetFx40_LegacySecurityPolicy enabled="true"/>

    in the Microsoft.Dynamics.NAV.Server.exe.config

This file is located in C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics NAV\110\Service (For NAV 2018)

After changing the configuration file the report (in PDF format) creating is same fast as in NAV 2015

You can also refer the link below (in the line: CODE ACCESS SECURITY (CAS) POLICY SWITCH. The default value for Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2015...)
