I am trying to create links in one report to multiple other management reporter reports. When I do this as shown below only the first link works and the second column link (column K) is ignored. How can I get both, column J and column K links to work?

Hello Ludwig,
i reported the issue to Microsoft and have the following answer.
"This feature doesn't exist in Financial reporting for F&O. While MR was the basis for Financial reporting, it is not the same, and this is one of the features that we weren't able to support. We don't have a timeframe for when/if this will be added into FR.
You can create a suggestion for product team to make it available for next Versions."
Many thanks and best regards
Volker
Hello VolkerEb,
The last time I check the linkage of financial reports in D365FO I noticed that the same functionality that was available for AX2012 is no longer available for D365FO.
Have not checked this for the last couple of weeks.
As there have been updates to D365FO I would recommend that you check it once again and if you cannot get it running, contact the MS support.
Would be great if you could keep us updated here with your findings.
Many thanks and best regards,
Ludwig
How does it works for the financial reporting in Dynamics 365. Here i found the row links but not the necessary columns in the reporting tree. Can somebody help here ?
Hi Sam_Gems,
The message says that a financial dimension link is missing.
I cannot identify this from your screenprint.
Is it possible that you show a large one and also share how you setup your rows and columns?
Many thanks and best regards,
Ludwig
Thanks for your explanation thus far, however, I encountered a road block while following the steps your outlines above. see screenshot below. Your help/advice would be highly appreciated.
Hi Jim Silver,
If you want to illustrate the 12 months next to each other you might even need to setup more than the 72 columns because you probably won't shows each of them separately but on a summarized basis.
For that reason, you would need to establish 6 non-printing columns - that pull the data from your other reports - and one summary printing column.
If you want to add or combine financial data from other ledger accounts you might need another non-printing column that is included in the monthly summary column.
So, yes, you will need a lot of columns that might, however, not all to be printed but used for calculation purposes only.
Hope this helps,
Ludwig
P.S. By the way, what kind of report do you want to create that requires that many columns?
Ludwig, thank you, this did work. One follow-up question to consider...if I was needing to bring in, for instance, 6 rows of information from 6 different reports and I wanted 12 monthly columns, would I need to create 72 (6x12) columns in the row definition file? It seems as though each row in the row definition file would require a new column for each month in order to utilize the correct cell reference for each month. Sounds like it is more difficult than it should be.
Thanks for your help, it is truly appreciated.
Hi Jim,
I finally tested your Scenario and noticed the following:
To overcome this issue, I created a row structure with 3 columns; 2 of which refer to a workbook
Then I created a reporting tree that link to the different MR reports (in my case the Balance sheet and cash flow Statement)
Finally you have to ensure that the different columns of your reporting tree refer to the reporting tree elements.
Running the Report included the data from the Balance sheet and cash flow Statement.
If you do not want to show them in separate lines you can of course make use of non-printing columns/lines an summarize the data.
Yet, if you setup a similar structure things should work fine.
Best regards,
Ludwig
