what is the purpose of routing number field in Bank Master?

The unique bank registration number that you use to identify the bank. This is an alphanumeric string of up to 10 characters that is used together with the bank account number to identify a particular bank account.
(USA) If your legal entity’s primary address is in the United States, enter the routing number of the bank. The length of the routing number is based on the option that is selected in the Routing number type field. For example, if you select FW in the Routing number type field, the routing number contains nine digits. If you select CP, the routing number contains six digits. If you select CH, the routing number contains four digits.
