detailed VAT report to reconcile with summary

Posted on by 119

Hello

We recently moved from SAGE and struggling to extract a detailed VAT Report to reconcile the figures in the default VAT report.

Is there no out of the box report to show the detailed entries for say B18 which will include Date, Account, Description, Net Amount, Vat Amount and Gross Amount?

Struggling to get the app installed with the following error and I tried both the account associated with our BC implementation and a generic one - any ideas?

If you want to bring a field which isn’t already available this is the quickest method. Faster than doing it as a discreet development

Actually I can map the client name via a vlookup in excel - it was the actually description that I was after.

Is the recommendation still the simple object designer?

Sorry supplimentary question ... the sage report had Customer/Vendor name ... however I do not see it on the list of columns to add in the designer - is it not possible to add in?

    thank you sir.

I am pretty handy with excel pivots so will give it a go with this option as do not have jet and neither powerBI! thanks nevertheless for your kind offer.

Many movers from sage find this. As Gavin mentioned you can get the raw detail but then assemble it with a pivot into the grouped structure by posting groups. This of course isn’t the 9 box construct a VAT statement actually follows. If you have Jet Reports in your solution I can provide a report which does what you require. Failing that you can build what is needed in Power BI - I have an example file which does that too.

    Hi,

The VAT Statement is based on the VAT Entries table so this would be the natural place to start. i.e.

    pastedimage1636716447754v1.png

This opens the VAT Entries page and you can filter to the same parameters as the VAT statement:

Please note you can also drill down on VAT amounts on the VAT Statement itself if you choose "Process > Preview"

    pastedimage1636716565738v3.png

i.e. you can drill down on the "VAT Entry Totalling" columns:

    Hope this helps

    Thanks

    Gavin
