Display Activities History from Opportunity in to a custom entity

Hello,

We have a process where an object goes through a lifecycle - from Leadcto Opportunity to Custom entity to another custom entity. We want to display all the activities from Leads & Opportunities on both these custom activities under timeline. The way it works where the activities from lead are flown through and displayed under the Opportunities timeline.

Is this possible? I did come across various blogs talking about the Rollup views - but that does the opposite.

Any ideas/workarounds to achieve this. Worst case, we'll settle with a subgrid that displays all the related activities - Can you confirm if this is possible?

Hi Shahid,

The relationship between Opportunity and custom entity is 1:N, right?

If so, I'm afraid it's impossible to display Activities of Opportunity on the timeline of custom entity.

A workaround is to insert a Quick View Form of Opportunity on the custom entity form, and this Quick View Form contains a sub-grid of Activities.

Step 1. Create a Quick View Form of Opportunity, insert a sub-grid of Activities.

Step 2. Insert this Quick View Form on the custom entity form.

If the relationship between Opportunity and custom entity is N:1, then just change the Rollup View to Cascade All.

Thanks Lu for confirming that it's impossible if the relationship is 1:N. The workaround to have a sub-grid on the quick view form is fabulous.
