Hi,

I am new to AX development and was wondering, what is the actual difference between AOT Query and View?

Can somebody explain in simple words.

Thanks.

    Hi Mohammad,

    It really depends on the usage of the object in business requirement.

    Few points in my understanding;

    Views are database objects (saved in database), faster as they are precompiled so to retrieve data from views would take less time.

    Queries are slower than views but are flexible to use, if you require user interaction in any one of your business requirement to choose fields - queries are there to help you.

    Little bit on views is here stoneridgesoftware.com/more-on-using-views-in-microsoft-dynamics-ax-2012
