Column chart dropping to 1 series in view mode - all users affected since April 2026 update

Hello Community,
I am hoping someone has seen this issue before and can point me in the right direction.

ISSUE
We have a column chart on a Dynamics 365 dashboard (Opportunity entity) that has three data series. Starting in April, without any changes on our end, the chart stopped displaying all three series in view mode and now only shows one. All three series display correctly in edit mode and in the Chart Designer.

CHART DETAILS
- Entity: Opportunity
- Chart Type: Column
- Three aggregate data series grouped by a lookup field
- Chart XML has 3 correct Series tags and 3 separate measure collection blocks

KEY OBERSERVATION
The Chart Designer preview shows all three series correctly. It is only when viewing the chart in view mode on the dashboard that it drops to one series. This strongly suggests the issue is in the view mode rendering engine rather than the chart definition itself, and aligns with the April 2026 monthly update being applied to our tenant.

Has anyone else experienced this after the April 2026 update? Could this be a known rendering bug introduced in version 9.2.26044.00164? Any workarounds or fixes would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!

Based on the information provided, my observations suggest that the underlying FetchXML and chart definition are still valid, but the dashboard rendering engine may not be correctly displaying multiple series.

This strongly points toward a Dynamics 365 chart rendering regression introduced in a recent platform update, rather than a problem with the chart XML itself.

I would recommend opening a Microsoft Support ticket and providing:
    • Platform version (9.2.26044.00164)
    • Chart XML
    • Screenshots of:
    • Chart Designer (showing all three series)
    • Dashboard view (showing only one series)
    • Confirmation that the issue started after the April 2026 update
This will help Microsoft determine whether it is a known issue or an unreported regression in the dashboard chart rendering engine.

Based on your findings, this does sound more like a client-side rendering issue than a chart definition problem.

    The fact that:

    • All 3 series appear in Chart Designer
    • All 3 series appear in Edit Mode
    • Only 1 series appears in Dashboard View Mode
    • The issue started after a platform update with no chart changes

strongly suggests a regression in the dashboard chart rendering engine.

    Recommended checks:

    • Test the chart outside the dashboard (entity view chart).
    • Test in different browsers and InPrivate mode.
    • Recreate the chart and dashboard component as a temporary workaround.
    • Check whether the issue affects all users or only specific security roles.
