Selecting lots with Non-warehouse location

I have a location without any warehouse features turned on. Shipment is posted from the sales order. I want to confirm that using the 'select entries' function in the item tracking lines and just clicking OK will:

select according to FEFO for lots with expiration dates
for items without expiration dates, the lot with the lowest value.

I did basic tests and I believe this is the behaviour of BC but I wanted to confirm. If true then this could be the process for having the system select the correct lot without the user having to verify the lot number, date etc.

You have to manually select the lot you want to sell from.

There is no function that will auto assign a batch or lot no. in Business Central.

If you want to achieve that you will have to do customization around this.
