Manufacturing Setup error and Essentials License

Hi, I'm hoping people can help with a setup conundrum that has me a little stumped.

I have a customer using Business Central Saas with assembly orders and planning. They are an essentials license user.

The system has a value of 'Transit' in field 'Components at Location' in the 'Manufacturing Setup' page.

Due to their essentials license, the page and field are not editable. I am unsure how or why the field is populated as I have inherited the project. It needs to be cleared for planning to work correctly as we are not consuming components from 'Transit'.

As they are using planning to create assembly orders, this field is creating assembly lines at 'Transit' location. Removing the value will resolve the issue but I am unable to do so. I have tried rapidstart but receive permission error despite being a super user. I assume this is due to the license.

Changing the configuration of locations or changing location code 'transit' in the locations table has no impact on the value held in manufacturing setup. Deletion of Transit location causes planning to error due to the value remaining in the manufacturing setup table.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Guy

RE: Manufacturing Setup error and Essentials License

I am pretty sure that it's not the best option. You could upgrade the customer to Premium for a month, remove the setup, and then downgrade them again to Essential. The problem is that all users have to be upgraded, so, depending on the user size, it would be somewhat expensive.

I would suggest to reach out to Business Central support and work with the team there. They have a lot more access to the environments and possibly can assist with removing the setup, allowing temporary access, or maybe something else to assist.
