Office 2007 fin.stx file and NAV 2009

Hello people :)

I'm writing here because we are a Microsoft Partner of Dynamics NAV and
our customer who has NAV2009 has technical problem with Office 2007.

Customer needs from Microsoft to authorize changes to the fin.stx file.
It specifically about adding in line no. 1725 containing  continuous
extension.
The file that is used by the hyperlink link needs compatible with the
current versions of Office.

Current row level: 00033-01261-240-0:
Doc, dot, htm, html, mhtml, mht, ini, fig., Gif, bmp, jpg, tif, .png .mdb
.mpeg .mpg .png .pdf Wri, wpd, wps, xls, xsn, xml, zip, fdf, msg

Row after changes: 00033-01261-240-0:
Doc, dot, htm, html, mhtml, mht, ini, fig., Gif, bmp, jpg, tif, .png .mdb
.mpeg .mpg .png .pdf Wps, xls, xsn, xml, zip, fdf, msg, docx, dotx, xslx,
xlsm, pptx, pptm, accdb, accde


Customer has tested fin.stx file and there isn't any technical problem
with NAV 2009 and these extensions. Only the settings of this file limit the
opening files with version compatible with Office 2007.
They manually have changed and tested .doc to .docx and it's working well.
So their acctually version of NAV (4.0 / 2009) is able to support Office's
extensions over 2007 version.

NAV does nothing with these files, but it passes the function to an
external application that handles the file (Office).


Has anyone dealt with that issue ?
