Sales order pick - How to automate batch number

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi All

During sales order or production picking in the warehouse, the system is asking the user to enter the batch orders if the same item is appearing in multiple batches for same location. How can i automate it by selecting the oldest batch?

Is there any way to automate batch picking for the sales order or any other pick process?

Can I move the batch above the locations now? What are other implication on this?

I need the same for serial number too.

    Hi Rahul Mohta,

Keep batch below location in hierarchy and use sorting in location directives as shown below.

Could add some simple logic looking at batch exprirate date or sorting in ascending order to check and use the batch

You can't really. You can only get it to validate that the user has selected the oldest batch. If you have your batches on different LPs (in the same location), then you only have to scan the LP Id, which might be easier than entering a Batch Id.

If you had 'batch above' in the reservation hierarchy, then AX would be directing you to pick a particular batch, and you would not have to enter the Batch Id, even if multiple batches were on the same LP or Location.
