Hi,
We have a requirement to update a field in the quote which was revised before it's marked as "Cancelled/Closed". Suppose we have an original quote. Now when the user presses the revise button, we want to set a field to a value then mark it as revised and a new quote (revision number as 1) will get generated and also want to update the field of the new quote.
Would you please describe your request more clearly?
Is the result that you want to update the existing quote directly instead of creating a new revision?
Best Regards,
Nya
Update the existing quote as well as the new one before it's ready for the user to view.
I'm afraid out of the box there's no good solution for your problem. The best approach would probably be writing a plugin. Revision is not a message you can bind your plugin to. Instead it's updating an existing quote and creating a new one. This post should help you trigger a plugin at the right time: www.crmanswers.net/.../catch-revise-quote-message-inside-plugin.html
From there you should be able to make changes at least to the new quote. If this doesn't suffice to access the old quote you might need another plugin-step registered to update to catch setting status reason to revised.
