Moving Marketing forms between environments

Hi everyone,

I have a quick question about Marketing forms being moved between environments - I've done some research but not been able to find any information regarding this, so hoping someone might be able to shed some light on this!

I've been working on a Dynamics 365 Marketing project for a while now, but this project only ever had a Prod environment - any changes made would then obviously be in live straight away. We are now looking into the possibility of creating a UAT environment for Marketing, to avoid making large changes to the live environment. Obviously, all of the forms, customer journeys, email templates and so on are in our Prod environment, but the business would for us to be able to export all of these entities into our UAT environment, and avoid having to recreate them all again, as this would be very time consuming, seeing as it has been in use for many months, and for many campaigns.

My question is this: would it be possible to move these marketing forms into a UAT environment once we have acquired the license? I would assume that this is possible, but haven't found any information suggesting that this is the case.

Any advice would be much appreciated!

Many thanks,

Emily

    Hi Emily,

You can easily move the marketing data in between the environments by using tool "Configuration Migration Tool". Please see the details here docs.microsoft.com/.../transfer-data

According to my past experience, I would suggest few things:

    1. Use templates wherever possible like Form Templates, Customer journey templates, segment templates and so on.. for moving between the environments.
    2. Do not move Lead Scoring Model, it always gave me issue.
    3. Do not sync LIVE records.

    Hope you find this helpful.

    Thanks

    Priya
