Client looking for "Proof of entitlement"

Posted on by

I have a GP client that has asked me for a licensing Proof of Entitlement for Dynamics GP, or something that proves they have purchased the licenses. Has anyone seen anything like this or know what they are looking for? I sent them the Software License Terms for Microsoft Dynamics GP, but is there something else as this didn't seem to appease their request.

    Hi Kjjson,

Let's be honest.. take a screen shot of the About GP window inside of GP and the Registration form.. both hold the Company Name & Site ID, which in itself is a prof of ownership.

Now, this doesn't tell you how long you've been owning GP, nor if you're still under active maintenance contract with Microsoft.

As Richard suggested, the only way to know is get in touch with the partner and have them print the current licensing page from Partner Source or Customer Source. Technically as a customer, you should have access to this information online too, as long as you have an account to logon.

They could use their invoice from their reseller as proof.  They could also have their reseller log into PartnerSource and download their license.
