Customer type

ReportReport

I have written a Crystal Report that joins up the SOP101-102, and the SOP302-303. Now we will be using customer type to show groups of customers - i.e. to send out some of this info - but only relevant to that group. So
I would like to populate "customer type" found on the customer (rm...) screen with the relevant group name. Then the user can select only those customers from that group.  My question is, where is this custimer type located within this group of tables?

    Frank,

I am not sure what the "customer (rm...) screen" is.  Do you mean the Customer Maintenance screen?  If so, I don't see a Customer Type field on there.  I am guessing you may be asking about the Customer Class ID (CUSTCLAS in RM00101), but that's a lot of guessing.  If Customer Class ID is not what you're looking for, can you please confirm what screen you see the field on, and whether this is customized?

I'm guessing you're looking at the Customer Maintenance window and possibly in the Test Company "Fabrikam".

Fabrikam uses the User-Defined 1 field as the "Type" on the lower left of the window; is this what you're refereing to?

If that's the case, you can use this User-Defined 1 easily enough for your Parameter/Selection in Crystal BUT at the same time, User-Defined 1 can be used for the selection in many GP reports as well.

If this field is in fact the User-Defined 1 field, it will be in the RM00101 table (RM Customer Master), USERDEF1 field.

Are you talking about the customer class or a renamed user defined field?

In RM00101 you will find the class and user defined field for the customer.

Go to Tools >> Resource Descriptions >> Tables

Select Microsoft Dynamics GP and Sales as the series.

Look for RM00101 in the physical table column.

You will be able to view the table definition.

I also recommend populating a single customer's record with the type information and then browsing the table's contents by running this query: select * from rm00101.
