Hello all,
I am trying to submit VAT return on UK for third Quarter. When I am trying to get the VAT Return Periods using Get VAT Return Periods. I get the following error "Not possible to retrieve VAT return periods.Reason from the HMRC server: The client and/or agent is not authorised".
Also, Is it mandatory to create an agent services account to submit the VAT Return in UK? Any idea.

Hi, are you trying to do this in a UAT environment or on a LIVE environment? If you are trying to do this is a LIVE environment there could be a couple of reasons for the error:
1. You have not connected D365FO with the HMRC GOV.UK Gateway account
2. You have not set up the Vat Registration number correctly in D365FO
Please can you confirm that these two are not the cause of the issue.
Also, with your cursor on the line (in Tax > Electronic Messages), the attachment should give you a bit more detail as to what the issue is.
