reports saved as Excel (from NAV 2015) prints in a small format

ReportReport

Hello,

Hoping I can find some help here. We have a situation where reports saved in Excel format (tried with both 2010 and 2007), from NAV 2015,  are having issues when sent to a printer. The whole page gets printed out in a small scaled down version, at the upper left hand corner of the page. Funny thing is, it looks okay on the print preview screen. And, it doesn't matter if we change the page scaling, or print area or even the orientation of the page. The only work around we've found is to copy and paste the contents of the report to a new/blank spreadsheet. Wondering if anybody else has seen this issue, and if there's a way to fix it without having to copy and paste the reports to a new spreadsheet every time we want to print.

Thanks so much

This might be Excel issue or specific printer drivers issue. What happens if you send this generated Excel to another user and he will print it? Can you send one of such reports to me to troubleshoot it?

    Thanks for the prompt responses.

This issue happen on multiple printers, across production/test environments, and multiple users. We have tried to save the reports as a Word/pdf format and they print out fine. The issue is isolated to Excel formats.

    Hey Alexander,

I can send you a sample report, but don't see an option to attach/send files in the forum. :-|

check which font is used in that excel export. maybe it is not available in excel and excel then uses a very small font instead.

    Rajbahak,

Can you upload it to some public FTP (e.g. Dropbox) and share link here so it will be visible to other community members?

this is the link to the scanned page of the print out that illustrates the issue reported in my post.  Notice how the trial balance report is nestled at the top left hand corner of the page.

Default font that the report gets generated is Segoe UI, and changing it to a more common Calibri hasn't helped either.

    Rajbahak,

Thank you for your time to share samples. I have downloaded your Excel and printed this to my printer without any issues.

Thus it makes me think the issue here is in the drivers of your particular printer. Can you upgrade it to the newest version?
