We have 2 users that has been getting this error when posting. Anyone found a solution?
Hi Stran,
In which module is the user(s) encountering the error while attempting to post? That information might help us to determine what could be causing the error or at least maybe help to narrow down some other things to look into.
One person was posting "Assembly Entry" and the other was posting "Sales batches".
Hi,
Have you checked this blog post (it's a little old, but still applies):
community.dynamics.com/.../an-open-operation-on-table-xxx-failed-because-path-does-not-exist
You may also want to check the permissions on this table "coAccountCache" in the company DB..
Also make sure the 2 user's GP client isn't actually turned on to record a DEXSQL tracing in the DEX.ini. Those 3 lines should be on FALSE.. If not, it could be that you're running a huge DEXSQL trace file and it's running out of space.

@Béat Bucher
I cannot seem to find this table "coAccountCache" in the GP tables or the Dynamics table.
This is weird, as is supposed to be in the Company DB..
gpt.azrcrv.co.uk/coAccoun
However, what I could see is that this was used in older GP versions, like 10.0, 2010 & 2013, but I don't think it was removed in any ways.. This table is supposed to your CoA (chart of account) cache..
However, being a 'cache' table, I can easily imagine that it's not on the SQL database side, but rather locally as an ISAM / Ctree table stored in the user's Temp folder or GP folder for quicker retrieval of some GP information.. Yes, even in 2020, this still exists and this could indicate a local file / folder security problem, or even worse, a corrupt User profile on a local workstation (seen this too).
@ Béat Bucher
Our version is 2015, I'll look on mine to see if that cache table is there. I looked everywhere in the DB and its no where to be found.
I've checked my local and I do not see any local tables being stored on my pc.
One of the users got a similar error this morning "An open operation on table 'ASI_Explorer_Favorites' failed because the path does not exist." I've tried clearing out the %temp% folder and logging in as SA first then let the user log in. No errors until this morning..but a different table this time.
I know that I have seen this error in the past - check the security on the folder where Dynamics GP code and files are located. I can not enter a path, as it can be different for all installations.
Generally installed in the %\Programs (x86)\Microsoft Dynamics\ - something on the local drive anyway.
Then ensure that the user has all access - save for FULL Control - apply to all sub-directories below the Microsoft Dynamics level.
Not always the problem - but it more often than not solved a great number of my security related matters.
