How can I deploy development D365FO to a customer's Azure instance with different domains?

I have an AX2012 customer with an Azure subscription that wants to experiment with D365FO and I'm trying to figure out how I can deploy one for them. I'm not the partner of record, but their partner is pretty much out of office.

I have my partner organization with full access and my domain for example, "AlexDomain", where I can create D365 projects, and their domain is "CustDomain".

Do I just create a D365 project, then go to Azure connectors, input their Name+Subscription, then download/upload the management certificate to their Azure instance and deploy it? Is it that simple?

What happens when I do the admin user provisioning? Will it be connected to "AlexDomain" or "CustDomain"?

Yes. You can deploy D365FO box from your LCS project to your customer's Azure subscription.

The environment will be linked to your O365 subscription and billed on your customer's Azure subscription.

Admin user provisioning can only be run with user who is part of O365 tenant that has D365FO licenses. So if your customer's O365 doesn't have such licenses, they can't set their account as Admin of the D365FO system.

However you can add your customer's user accounts in D365FO as users and grant them System administrator role.

When you add users from other domains, you need to add your customer's O365 tenant name in the "Provider" field in the User details. For example sts.windows.net/custDomain.

Ah so I can just add their users in LCS too so they can view the project and start/stop the instance easily (over Azure).

That last bit about the provider is very useful, thanks! I'll give it a shot.
