Security role to grant access to complete module

Hi Guys,

I have a new requirement saying that I need to create a new role and that role should have VIEW ACCESS to Expense management Module, General ledger Module, Transportation Management Module.

Any existing privilege or duty which have full access to module? Privilege cannot be extended in D365.

Please guide me in achieving this.

    Hi Adam,

Like mentioned above there is not one privilege or duty which will have read only access to a complete module. You can search for duties containing "inquire" or "review". Then you will have the majority. But why all within a module? Are all features of these modules really used?

    HI Adam ,

For security related requirements , you have to  find role  which  is close to your requirement from standard application  and then create your own role. You Can look at privileges  and duties  ending with "view"related to modules and use them in your custom role . Also you can utilize  security diagnostic,  take a task recording of the duties the user needs to perform and analyze them to determine the role

No, there are no such roles in the system. Usually such requirement won't make sense. The businesses are interested in controlling access to functionalities and processes, not just modules. But you should take a look at the standard roles and perhaps create your own roles based on what you learned.

For example Financial Controller (or similar, I don't have a system at hand) has view access to the financial data. But it's not only limited to the General Ledger module. And different Manager roles in general have view access in many things.

By the way, extending privileges would not help you at all. Instead you need to find privileges (and duties) that grant view access to things, and add them to your role.
