I am trying to learn the Electronic Reporting module.

At this heading 'Configuring data model mappings for outgoing documents'
It says: "To become familiar with the details of this scenario, play the ER Define model mapping and select data sources and ER Map data model to selected data sources task guides (part of the 7.5.4.3 Acquire/Develop IT service/solution components (10677) business process)."
Since in any given job there is a lot to learn, I'm sure to the knowledgeable reader I may appear to be diving into the middle, but I have to start somewhere and I have a user ticket to solve.
How do I do follow the advice on the Questions I have are:
In what system would I do that? My production system? Pre-production? Test? A Development system Cloud Hosted in LCS? On some Microsoft Demo System?
What is a task guide?
To what publication would section 7.5.4.3 appear?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
