Can I retrieve the user and password from Active Directory??

Hello folks.

Recently a new customer is asking for a new functionality.

This functionality is simple for him. He wants to create a login window as AX3 and he wants to validate it with Active Directory and the current windows User.

Lets see.

When i execute AX he validate the NTService Account i think and starts right away after Active Directory Validation.

Well, my customer wants that when you execute AX a window like AX3 user logon appears before anything. The user type his name and his password that has to be validated on the AD. If another user wants to use the PC, the User Logon fails because this NTServiceAccount doesn't correspond to that user. The user must to logoff from that session and start a new session with his credentials

I hope that all of you understand me.

These kind of things can be done???

P.D. Why the customer requires these things???

European Medical Agency AKA EMEA request that every user involved in a medical production process can not use the application using other credentials. In this case if a user let his windows session open and AX is open or close, the user can access or open AX and manipulate information using the other credentials. And if you are wondering what the customer does?? :D It is a Hight Tech Pharmaceutical Laboratory in South America. And sorry for my ugly english :D They're are awaiting the EMEA auditory Q3 2009.

Thanks to all:D

Following is the information, i found at knowledgebase (Article ID: 911363)

Microsoft Dynamics AX 4.0 uses Windows Integrated Authentication. This authentication method allows for a single logon when the client is started. Windows Integrated Authentication passes the user's Windows credentials instead of prompting for a logon. This means that in order to start a client as another user, you must pass another user's credentials or logon to Windows as the user's Windows user account. This process is primarily used to test user-specific issues without the requirement to log on to many workstations.

To log on as a different user in a test environment, follow these steps:

    1. Create an Axapta Configuration File (.axc) file. To do this, follow these steps:
    a. Start the Microsoft Dynamics AX Configuration utility.
    b. Click the configuration that you want to use.
    c. Click Manage, and then click Save Configuration As File.
    2. Locate the Ax32.exe file.
    3. Right-click the file, and then click Create Shortcut.
    4. Right-click the Ax32.exe shortcut that you created, and then click Properties.
    5. In the Target box, enter the following switch to the end of the path:
    -regconfig=C:\Ax40.axc
Note The full path resembles the following:
    C:\Program Files\Microsoft Dynamics AX\40\Client\Bin\Ax32.exe" -regconfig=C:\test.axc
    6. Click Apply, and then click OK.
    7. To start the Microsoft Dynamics AX client, right-click the Ax32.exe shortcut that you created in step 3, and then click Run As.
    8. Enter the Windows credentials (username and password) for the user whom you want to start the Microsoft Dynamics AX client, and then click OK.

    For Windows Vista

To run the runas command in the Windows Vista operating system, you must also add the user whom you want to use. The following is from the "Target" section of a shortcut:

    Target = C:\Windows\System32\runas.exe /user:NORTHAMERICA\Dyndust "ax32.exe -regconfig=C:\dyndust.axc"

Note The .axc file indicates a Microsoft Dynamics AX configuration file.

I hope that may be resolve your problem though I found it the closest match to your issue.
