Custom workflows or default workflows

Hi,

I have been hearing or asking to write custom workflows in my organization. I checked workflow engine and it is quite enough to perform all actions but the question is why do I need to create custom workflows and how ?

Hi,

if the standard workflow meet your requirement you don't need to create any, but in case you want something extra the link below explain the steps.

Hi AXRanier,

In most cases, you may need to make modifications to existing workflow documents. As the workflow is already implemented for major source documents like Purchase requisition, purchase orders etc, so you most probably ending up modifying the existing workflows instead of creating a new one.

Thanks Faisal for sharing this nice series. It gave me better understanding about workflows in AX. I am going to write my first custom workflow now...hurray!!!
