Hi everyone,
In AX 2012 we have a batch job which processes Sales invoices. This batch job executes just fine everyday however, in some instance it ends up with an error. This batch job executes over night and I stay away from my office at that time. So in case the batch job fails I wants an email notification so that I can address this first thing in the morning.
We are confused because of the behavior of batch job. If I understand correctly on the alert tab of batch job form AX is configured to send out an email notification at execution of every instance of batch job.
however, when error occurs in batch job no email notification is sent out. email functionality works fine across the environment. Are we understanding this behavior correctly?
Any input is appreciated.

Do you know the hotfix KB number for this issue in R3 CU8?
It's a bug in Ax. Ask Microsoft to give u a hotfix. Let me know if you have any further questions.

Were you ever able to get clarity or solution on this? I'm running into the exact same issue in an AX 2012 R3 deployment. All other email functionality is working with the exceptions of batch job status emails. I've tried everything I can think of but no resolution as of yet. Thanks in advance

Can this user get e-mails for alert rules already?
If not:
There is an option for receiving alerts as e-mail in user settings, this should be checked.
In addition,
Are you using AX2012 R3?
I have faced an issue:
and still could not get any e-mail from any alert rules.
I changed the setting written in bullet numbered 3 above, to "define on each alert rule" then trigger the alert again and then was able to receive an e-mail.

I recall a customer saying his email alerts work only if an email address is entered in Cc field. Could you please enter an email in Cc field and try ?
Tim, i appreciate your response. Your answer makes complete sense to me. the job itsel never sent out an email however, if posting invoice didn't work and then AX shoots an email. thanks alot for your assistance.
