Does AX track changes to the Fixed Asset Locations when it is changed? Any help would be appreciated

Is this functionality to create alerts available in older versions of AX (ie AX2012) or only in 365?  I don't see options in the FA form where we add assets.  There is a location field but I see no other options to track or report on location of assets.

    Hello Tremor Olaes,

As Ludwig mentioned; unless you set the database log enabled to capture the changes in asset location; no changes can be tracked in AX2012.

But if you look at D365; you will be able to set an alert rule for fixed asset location change. Below are the steps.

Go to Fixed assets form and click on Options > Create a custom alert.

In "Create alert rule" form; you can set the Field for "Location" and then set the Event as "has changed".

You can decide to set the alert for any selected fixed asset or for all fixed assets by selecting the alert options.

You can also set the alert duration; set the Send email check box enabled and set the Email recipients to receive the notification for any change in the fixed asset location field.

unless you use the database log changes to the fixed asset location are not traced.

    Hi Termor,

At Fixed Asset level, you can specify the location. See below, please check your environment as well.
