Changing currency when raising a sales invoice

Hi everyone

When creating a free text invoice, there is a Currency option under the Free text invoice header and our Finance team want to be able to change it from the default currency to raise the invoice in a different currency if needed.

However, the Currency option is greyed out and I cannot seem to make this editable unless I give the user Sys admin which of course I can't do (for security reasons).

Our user's workaround is to go into the Customer record and change the currency there so that this will reflect when a free text invoice is generated but doing things this way is not good practice, especially if our user forgets to put it back which is what happened today.

The user currently has the following roles: Accountant, Accounting manager, Accounting supervisor, Sales ledger Clerk, Sales Ledger Manager, Sales Clerk, Sales Manager, System User, Treasurer.

Any advice how we can make this field available to our user?  Which role would do this? or are they simply not supposed to be able to change it?

Thanks!

Changing currency when raising a sales invoice
    Hi,

The ability to change the currency when raising a sales invoice depends on the user's security role and the configuration of the system. By default, the Currency field in the Free text invoice header is not editable for certain roles to maintain data consistency and prevent unauthorized changes.
To make the Currency field available for your user without granting them Sys admin privileges, you can try the following steps:

    1. Identify the appropriate security role: Determine which security roles have access to modify the Currency field. You may need to review the privileges assigned to each role and their associated duties.

    2. Adjust security role privileges: Once you identify the relevant security roles, you can customize the privileges for that role to include the ability to edit the Currency field. This customization should be done by a user with appropriate system administration privileges.

    Best regards,
    Kevin
