View of Cases by Team membership

Posted on by 19

Looking for some assistance with the following scenario

We have a solution for handling cases which will be logged by a level one service desk and if they can't resolve the issue they assign the case to the appropriate team - who then pick up on the case and resolve.

I want to be able to report on which teams currently have cases and the problem is when a case gets assigned to a TEAM and picked up by a user the user becomes the owner.

So is it possible to report (view) on a list of cases and see the TEAMS that has the case not the individual team member.

eg:  If Joe Bloggs is a member of the LOGISTICS team and has taken or been given ownership of a case I want to be able t report that the case is with LOGISTICS not Joe Bloggs

The User can belong to multiple teams at one time and because of this using out of the box view configuration etc you won't get what you want - you would probably either need to do a custom SSRS or Power Bi report.
