Hi,
I am clearing my database of various items that I no longer sell, but cannot delete an item as it has been used in one or more sales quotes. Can you tell me how I locate the quote(s) in question?
Many thanks
Using NAV2013 R2
Hi Hasitha,
Amazing - that is exactly what I was looking for. Thanks for solving my issue and appreciate all the other suggestions from the community.
Hi David,
You do not need access to the development environment to locate the sales quote.
Just go to the Item Card, click the "Qty on Sales Order" flow field. This would then initially show the Sales Orders containing the item. Change the "Document Type" filter to "Quote" to view quotes containing you item.

Hi Suresh,
As with AJ above I appreciate you looking into this. I personally dont have access to the development environment but will pass on to someone who does.
Hi AJ,
Many thanks for looking into this. I personally dont have access to the development environment but will pass on to someone who does.
From the Development Environment --> Object Designer, open the page 516 and filter for Document Type = Quote and for your Item. The other solution is open the table itself and apply same filters.
The last option would be Go To SQL Database and Query on the Sales Line Table with above filters.
Hi David,
If you have access to the NAV development environment, you can figure this out very quickly. Essentially, Run the Sales Line table, filtering on Document Type = Quote, and No. = your Item No.
Do NOT delete anything while you are browsing the table. Your goal is to identify the Document No. that contains this Item. The exit the NAV Development application, return to the main NAV Windows client, open that Sales Quote and delete the line or the quote entirely, as needed.
You can also do this in SQL, but it'll be a lot easier done from the NAV Development client.
I hope this helps. If my response has answered your question, please take a moment to verify by clicking Yes next to "Did this answer your question?"
Hi Manjusree,
I'm not sure where I can do that as the item has never been purchased. I know that someone in our sales team has sent out a prospective quote with that item listed, but finding that quote is proving tricky. I'll keep looking. Appreciate your help.
Hi,
What about running 'Sales Line' table and apply filter for document type, type and No.?
