Convert an Item to a Service

Hi,

I'm looking for the best way to convert an item to a service if this is at all possible without making a complete mess transaction history etc.

Is this possible using the AOT or possible within standard AX?

Have a look at this. Product information management -> Conversions.

this is the possibility with out effecting the system integrity.

Hi Hans,

There is no option to convert from Item to Service. You can convert to non-stocked like Krishna pointed. See also technet.microsoft.com/.../hh802990.aspx

It is a bad idea to do in the tables directly. If you really need service items, create new products instead.

Hi Krishna,

I was aware of this option but as Andre said this is a very specific conversion tool. Its for "product type" Services only that need to become a non-stocked.
