Will changing projects stage from active to closed improve performance?

We use projects module extensively and have over 100,000 projects set to active. We are not experiencing noticeable slowness in the main UI (Project Management and Accounting> Projects> Projects All). Many of these projects are ended and could have their status changed from /Active/ to /closed/ using excel add-in. Before doing this Business has asked if there is any performance benefit to be had by doing this. I am wondering if in some of the forms (AP Invoice/ Project Invoice/ etc etc) if users would see benefit in performance by doing this. ie are the forms pre-set to only select /active/ projects.
Thanks

    Hi,
Based on the problem you described, I think it's good for you to do that:
    1. Improved database performance: Closing projects can reduce the number of active records in the system, which may positively impact database performance. Querying and accessing project-related data may become faster as the system has fewer active records to process.
    2. Enhanced system responsiveness: With fewer active projects, the system may experience improved responsiveness when performing operations related to project management and accounting. This could include activities such as generating reports, running workflows, or calculating project-related metrics.
    3. Streamlined user experience: Changing the status of ended projects to closed can declutter the UI and simplify navigation for users. It can ensure that only relevant and currently active projects are displayed, which can enhance user productivity and ease of use within Dynamics 365.
    Best regards,
    Kevin

    Hi Simon,

I think it will have, because the initially form will open with active projects only.
If you change the status of the project to finished, while opening it won't show the finished projects in the list page which will improve the performance for loading records.
Only active projects will be displayed as you have standard filter on project status at top when opening the form.

    Thanks,
    Girish S.
