Both modifier and field level security do not lock or grey out the the Trade Discount field on
SOP transaction Entry.
Have tried numerous methods but the field always comes up available for entry
(L) is to tell that these fields are local fields and are not table field, they gets cleared when browse trough other record and used for short term , display purpose.
Are you using field level security?
Means if there are some user , who are authorised to enter value in these field ten you can not just locked the field, you want to allow entering value for some users and want to make field lock for some users.
Thank you for that information. If I want to prevent most users from entering anything in the Trade Discount field on the SOP Transaction Entry Screen but see what was entered by authorized user which file do I have to lock out ? All 4 of them ?
Another general question. What does the "(L)" in from of a field name mean ?

As mentioned by Almas Mahfooz , there are 4 fields, you may lock them all. Here are the field names
'Trade Discount Amount'
'Originating Trade Discount Amount'
'(L) Trade Discount Amount'
'(L) Originating Trade Discount Amount'
There are 4 overlapped trade discounts fields are there on SOP Entry, what is the fied name you are using to grey out?
