Hi Ted,

Maybe you can also try this option for you to add new column on the field.

Right click on any of the field then select Add Columns and a pop up form will display.

Hi Ted,

Is this the only operation?

I did the same operation (as in the screenshot above) and it didn't go wrong.

Remove your customization, then rebuild and sync to confirm whether it is normal.Debug it.
