Hello,
We are converting from AX2012 to D365 and run a large number of allocation journals each month. In AX2012 we had our allocations setup to add the name of our allocation rule into the Description field of each line of our allocation ran. This was helpful when running inquiry and other reports including these transactions knowing which allocation the lines pertain too. In D365 we are not able to figure out a way to link the allocation rules to our description field, or figure out how to add something to this field. I feel there should be a way to add since there is a Description field, but all documents I find online show this area blank. Has anyone had luck being able to populate this field when running allocations?
Thank you!
Joel
Hi Joel,
Could you please review the setup in AX?
If it is set in the default description, that should be a customization in AX.
If you have already setup description in "journal description" screen then You can select that description from drop down list box, it will not populate automatically. Are you not able to select the description or is it disabled?
Please check the below screen shot:
Hello Joel,
You can make use of the default descriptions functionality to get the description filled in the journal.
I added you some screenprints below that show what this feature can do.
Best regards,
Ludwig
Thank you Ludwig! Much appreciated. This looks like a good option and we will be testing tomorrow and hopefully apply later this week when we run our first month allocation entries.
