Intrastat - transfer orders

Hi

I have tested if I can include transfer order transactions into my Intrastat reporting, when I transfer items between different EU countries (DEU to DNK),

On the Sites and Warehouses used transfering items the primary adresses are DEU and DNK

When I search for the transfer order transactions under Tax > Declaration > Foreign trade > Intrastat - menu item Transfer and select Transfer order - Yes, no records are transfered to the Intrastat form.

Have anyone managed to include transfer order transactions in the Intrastat form using standard functionality in D365FO, what setup is required or has it been solved customizing D365FO?

PS: Foreign trade parameters has been setup and DEU (domestic) and DNK (EU) created under country region properties

Best regards

    Hi Sten Baumgarten,

Can you check if all the settings in the following documents have been completed?

    Hi QianQW

I followed the setup but I did not get the expected result. I'm not sure that my setup correct and that is why I did not get the expected result.

I created a support request in LCS and I'm in dialog with a Microsoft support engineer.

I'll come back to you when I know for sure that the functionality is available or not

    Best regards

    Hi QuinQW

Microsoft helped me and told that I had to select a vendor account on the from and to warehouse, where the wendor is setup with correct address and tax exempt number.

After i did that the warehouse i transfered from (dispatches) were included in my intrastat reporting for the from legal entity.

I hope that I can find a way to report Intrastat for the warehouse I transfer to (arrival to - another EU country with another tax exempt number).

    Best regards

    Good Morning Sten,

I am not an intrastat/warehouse expert but don't you need a proper invoice if you move things around between warehouses/sites that are located in different countries within the EU?

If different legal entities are involved, I would expect that an (intercompany) invoice is generated.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Ludwig

The customer want to use transfer orders to move items between their different production sites within the same legal entity.

We have discussed to use Intracompany (within same legal entity) or Intercompany orders (between different different tax exempt number setup for different "legal entities" (same legal entity). The intra/intercompany solution has not yet been decided.

I'm not an Intrastat expert my self, but when I look at the information in a Intrastat record, it does not contain invoice information, but only transfered amount, country (dispatch/arrival) and other item related information.

Perhaps someone in the Community can help us answering if an invoice is required when transfering items across EU countries and recuired as part of the Intrastat reporting

    Best regards

    Hi Sten,

It is not required to have invoice ID in case of goods transfer between own warehouses (located in different EU countries).

In any case when an INTRASTAT declaration is generated the information is aggregated (Commodity code, Country, Procedure, etc.) – the details about document ID, customer etc., are not part from the XML file and remain in D365 only.

    Best regards,

    Anton

    Hello Sten,

For intrastat no invoice is required but in many EU countries tax laws define that transfers of goods or services between different warehouses that are located in different countries give raise to sales tax that you have to calculate and pay.

Those rules can be quite complex and depend - among others - on the time / duration goods are shifted, the purpose they are shifted between warehouses, etc.

To calculate and pay for the sales tax, you typically need a kind of (invoice) document.

To be on the save side, it might be smart giving your tax advisor a call making sure that you don't run into such tax related issues.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Hi Sten,

In one of your posts, you mentioned a name of a Microsoft employee. I have removed that as moderator. As there are many privacy regulations around the world, it might be better to just mentioning that Microsoft helped you. If you want to credit someone, please ask permission to that person.

If you want to use my name as reference, in advance, you have my permission as I'm already a public person.

    Hi Ludwig

Thanks for your answer. I'm sorry for my late reply. You are right that it's important that we apply to the local requirements from the authorities.

We ended up using intracompany functionality (invoice within the legal entity). We setup different pro and con for transfer order, intracompany and intercompany and ended up with intracompany. The main pros were that we have different external transportation documents available and did not have to make customizations.

    Best regards

    Sten
