Do you know if it is possible to download a complete CU9 on one location for installation on another location?

It seems that the installer both windows and lcs expects to find an running Ax2012 R3 instance. It is a very simple scenarios - I have a running demo Ax 2012 CU8 in a virtual environment where the internet does not work.

Thanks

Søren

    Hi Søren

You can use the AX Update Installer.

    go.microsoft.com/fwlink

Download CU9 and save the update package.

Then run the AX Update Installer on your demo VM and chosse 'Install updates' (Select a previously downloaded Microsoft Dynamics AX 2012 R3 update package to install). Give it the package you previously downloaded.

Yes, i get to download the cu9 files - but I cannot find them after i quit the wizard - at the point where the installer asks for a server/model to update

Hmm, good point. You have to point it at the model store before you get to the bit where you can save the update. Can you point it to the SQL instance on your VM?

    Hi Søren,

Have you considered using the CU9 Slipstream?

Once you have the slipstream you can follow these steps http://tech.alirazazaidi.com/dynamics-ax-2012-r3-cu9-update-step-by-step.

To download the CU9 slipstream, go to Microsoft Dynamics Lifecycle Services, and after selecting a project, click Updates. In the Updates to include with new installations section, select the slipstreamable CU9 update package and download it.

    rgds,

    Rob

    Hi Andersen,

you can use both ways package file and slipstream. it depends on your requirement.

As you mention you are using cu8 already then you should go with axpakage. after download there is an option for save package. save it and run different environments.
