Custom SSRS Reports with advance expressions in grouping

Hi all,

I making my way into more advance reporting, right now I am on the early stages as you might notice. The task what I need is very straightfordward, but I need some guidelines from you guys.

I have a standard report (no coding) with some adjancets row groups which are displaying the totals of hours/rate/Amount from Workers and Operations at each production. I would add to add some additinal conditional formatting and also some additional calculation to this grouping to display the following columns:

1) the basic percentage of each line group against the Grand Total Amount. so if the grand total has 100 hrs, and the total operation has 50 hrs it should simply display 50%.

2) another column where it will compare the actual consummed hours of each opeartion (already displayed in the Sum Hours by Operation) againt the estimated time. Remaining =  Estimated - Real

3) A coditional formating where it will compare the result of remaing of step 2. and will color the group line in Red when Real  has exceeded the estimated time (Remaing = [-] ) and green when Remaing is (+).

of course the porpuse of the business here is to have a fast very fast view before looking for the details down on the same report.

your help is always welcome and greatly appreciated. thanks before hand :)

    Hi CBNestor,

If you select a row and go to properties in the report designer there is "Expression..." link in lookup. Have you tried this?

I understand, thanks for the advice. Indeed it helped.

I was just wondering about the formatting conditionals to color the rows. I cannot find a solution to color the whole row which on expression. unless setting the format expression on each Text Box inside the row which I dont find the logic on that.

Having the thread here is no problem, I'm just suggesting where you'll have a better chance to get an answer (and I gave you a link to such as thread; maybe it solves your problem).

As this question doesn't seem to be about anything specific to Dynamics AX, you should rather look at SSRS-oriented sources. For example, check out Adding Percentage of Total Columns to Table in SSRS Report in SqlServerCentral forum.
