I had configured Global search for one of out custom Entity it shows result as No result found where as I had configured the identical settings in trial version and there it is working absolutely perfect.

Any idea why is this been happening.

Checks which already done : 1.Version are same of our instance and trail instance.

2.Portal Search View has been created for custom Entity.

3.Data service are in sync with portal.

4.Site Sittings and Site maker are up to date as per the configuration.

I have the same question (0)

    Hey There!

Based on what you have done already, the only thing I can think of would be Entity Permissions. This is usually the "gotcha" for a lot of data retrieval errors.

Make sure you setup an Entity Permission for your custom entity. I would start with it as Global privilege with Read permissions and go from there. Make sure you assign that Entity Permission to web role(s), most like Authenticated User and Anonymous User (so the search works for logged in and not logged in).

Hope this solves the problem! If so, I'd appreciate if you marked this as answered!

    Thanks!

Thank you, I was able to configure the search from your article. I am trying to mark "Yes" as answer but it says I don't have permissions to do it.

I am glad to know that my article fixed your problem and you tried to verify my answer. Unfortunately, you were not able to do so but this is fine. :)

    Hi

I am having a problem. I don't see the new records in portal search until I rebuild the search index. How to solve this.

    Thanks you.

This is the known sync issue. It could take 15 minutes or more than that to make sync happen between dynamics and portal.

Being a user, you have to wait at least 15 minutes.

Or Being a customizer, If you want to see immediate changes then clear your cache with the admin role and rebuild the index and see the changes.

Or else you could have reported this issue as product enhancement to Microsoft, maybe in coming releases, we will have some good option to see the immediate changes.
