I have a system D365 8.2 that configure to use Windows Authentication (Active Directory users). Now I have a request to upgrade/install D365 9.1.

1. Can I upgrade/install new server D365 9.1 and reuse existing AD for Windows Authentication or any change/update for AD server ?

2. I have found reference at below, Do I need to implement claims-based authentication require for D365 9.1?

docs.microsoft.com/.../configure-claims-based-authentication

Please help to advice

Thanks,

Chau

Yes you can install a new D365 v9.1 server and use your existing AD.

You do not need to use Claims for internal access to Dynamics organizations however if you plan on Internet Facing Deployment and using ADFS then it would require Claims

Here are a couple of articles to consider:

Plan your upgrade to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Server: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/deploy/plan-your-upgrade-to-microsoft-dynamics-365-server?view=op-9-0

    Import an organization: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/customerengagement/on-premises/deploy/import-an-organization?view=op-9-1
