Unique Id for CRM records

Hello-

Dynamics CRM 2011 - On Premise - Each record for example Contact should have a unique ID that the system generates. So you can export and import with accurrary. What is this field called. I want to pull this field into My Advance Finds but I am unable to fine it. Please advise where this field is and why as the system administrator I am unable to view. Thanks.

You should be able to export, and select the option for re-import for this purpose. The ID is then a hidden field in the resulting spreadsheet.

Hi,

each entity inside CRM has a unique ID field, it is entitynameid, so for contact is contactid for account is accountid (but for activtity type entities like email, phone call, etc etc is always activityid)

This field is not visible inside CRM and can't be selected for advanced find, but as Shane wrote it used when the records are exported for re-import.

Hello,

Every record in Dynamics CRM has a unique identifier like this :

for lead for example the id is leadid = EE669047-E897-E311-A5A7-D89D67633DBC

if you want to know the unique identifier of a specific record. you need to double click on this record, when the form is open. press CTRL+N keys, it will reload the same record on a new window with the an URL like this:

http://crmOrg/main.aspx?etn=entity&id=%7bBB81247D-7494-E111-913F-00155D00650B%7d&pagetype=entityrecord

but you cannot search this id in advanced find.

If you are using an OnPremise version, and you have access to server database, you can query your entity (table name = EntityName+"Base" ) for example, if you need to search a lead you should write :

Select * From LeadBase

where leadid = 'BB81247D-7494-E111-913F-00155D00650B'

This field is called entity id for eg; contactid, accountid.

It is a primary key and it is not visible in field list. But when you export data from advanced find then do following:

Open exported data sheet-->Save as in CSV format -->Close file-->Reopne CSV file.

Now you will see most left column [Do NOT MODIFY]Contactid. This is unique id that you want.
