Is it possible to use validTimeState() in a select statement join clause? If so, what is the syntax? Where would you place the validTimeState() call?

Hi Steve
Take a look at download.microsoft.com/.../using_date_effective_patterns_ax2012.pdf
Here you are able to find some examples on using the validTimeState keyword in a Join.
Reading at page 30, seems that the ValidTimeState keyword can be set only on the master data source, which is the root table in a form or a query. It cannot be set on the inner/outer/exist/notexist joined child table.
Thank you.
So I guess I would need to do a separate lookup from within the "while select" loop. Is that correct?
For my particular query, I set the keyword on the root table, and it worked for the joined address table. So is that how it actually works? You can place it at the beginning and it will trickle down through the joins?
My query starts with CustInvoiceJour and ends with a join on LogisticsPostalAddress. I needed the ValidTimeState to apply to LogisticsPostalAddress, which it appears to do.
Apparently if you apply the validTimeState keyword on the root table, that time state rolls down to all the joins as well.
Yes, my understanding is that you're setting it for the query as a whole, not for individual tables.
