New Import Excel Spreadsheet

Posted on by 5

Good afternoon everyone,

I just signed up for the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Trial to see if I could use this as a vehicle to import some data for our new Customer Service venture we are starting. I've installed the Customer Service Hub database and I have an existing Excel spreadsheet that I would like to import into the Customer Service Hub however in doing so I get errors stating that I guess the fields need to be already established inside of the Customer Service Hub. Is there any way to import just raw data into the Dynamics 365 Customer Service Hub and it work without errors? Or do I need to use another Dynamics 365 database, like Sales?

Thank you.

If you switch to the classic interface and do the data import (docs.microsoft.com/.../import-accounts-leads-other-data) there is the option to create fields if they do not already exist (usually this isn't recommended), but you will still need to modify forms and views so that your new fields are visible to your users.
