When Posting on General Journal, rows dissapears

Posted on by Microsoft Employee

Hi i'm new in Dynamics Nav 2016. I got a question: after posting General Journal lines, they dissapear.

I see the table using is Gen_ Journal Line in the Database. I'm wondering where those lines go after posting?

Thank you.

Check how the process flow works and you will understand the logic. In NAV assume posting means you completed the transaction, so it will delete the transaction from that table and transfer those posted tables, in this case it will transfer the entry to GL Entry and based on Account Type and other fields it will create additional records in other Ledger Entry tables.

Journal Line tables: Gen. Journal Line , Item Journal Line.

Related Posted Tables: G/L Entry, Item Ledger Entry, Cust. Ledger Entry........

The General Journal Lines are only for unposted journals. Once posted, it gets converted to G/L Entry and other related entries ( such as Vendor Ledger Entry, Customer Ledger Entry, etc ).
