Mandatory fields are just simply having the Mandatory=Yes property set on the entity staging table. In AX 2012 it is called DMFCustGroupEntity, most likely the name has been kept in Dynamics 365 for Operations.

Mandatory fields should be visible also in the Field list on the entity that you could check via the client User Interface too (at least you could see it in AX 2012).

To get a template for any entity you can simply export it using Data migration.

    Hi Manivannan,

In current version of AX (D365) you can directly export cust group data using customer groups data entity which you can use as a template.

In AX 2012 R3 you can generate a sample template from DMF->processing groups->entities->generate source file. (Select customer groups entity) Here you can check the mandatory fields in entity.

    Hi

Open in Excel can be an alternative way to update D365 with customer groups needed.

    The process is

    Create one customer group

    Open in Excel

Add additional groups in the Excel sheet

Publish the Excel file to D365

    Br sten

    HI

As you know, the mandatory fields are sometimes different as per requirements.  About fields which are systematically mandatory please be informed that when you use both excel Add or DMF module, the mandatory field are highlighted. in excel as you drag one field, all mandatory one will be chosen automatically and even there is one sign beside them before dragging any.

in DFM all mandatory fields are chosen automatically and even if you try to remove them an error pops up.

    Regards

    Adineh
