Manual Download Option for Dynamics 365 App for Outlook

My client doesn't allow users to automatically download software to their computers.  The default behavior from the Dynamics 365 App for Outlook is that it gets pushed by the Dynamics CRM to the client.  The client won't allow that. Is there a downloadable option?

Unfortunately that's the only available option for now (maybe forever due to its dependencies/prerequisites)

I don't see in the article where it says that there is no download or that it must be pushed.

The new UCI App for Outlook is not an installable like old version Outlook plugin (downloadable).

I assume they are Outlook Addin - Probably you can try with some PowerShell scripts.

    Hi Will,

Basically there are two kinds of Dynamics Outlook Client. One is Dynamics 365 for Outlook (COM Add-in), another is Dynamics 365 App for Outlook (MailApp). The below are introduction for each:

    COM Add-in:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/outlook-addin/user-guide/dynamics-365-outlook-user-s-guide

    MailApp:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/outlook-app/overview

Like Arun already mentioned earlier, since MailApp does not required download at all and is deployed directly from server, the Dynamics Outlook Client you are talking about is most likely COM Add-in. Only COM Add-in requires download and install. In that case, if your customer's computer does not allow downloading, you can download the install file into a public share, then map that share as a network drive on customer's computer, and use command line to install from network drive. About how to install COM Add-in through command line, you can refer to following link:

    https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics365/outlook-addin/admin-guide/install-using-command-prompt

    Regards,

    Andy
