Event calendar view/control in enterprise portal & AX

Hi folks,

We have one requirement wherein user wants event calendar view in enterprise portal as well as in ax. For e.g

user wants control similar like below:

In this event calendar user wants to view which course is starting at which date. Similar thing is also required on AX form.

Is this possible in enterprise portal or AX ? Are there any external controls which we can use in enterprise portal or AX to fulfil this requirement?

Please help.

Hi Puneet

I think you can use an Asp .net control.

For instance take a look at www.codeproject.com/.../A-Professional-Calendar-Agenda-View-That-You-Will

Finally, load the item from an AX dataset.

One doubt: the link here is for custom calendar control created in c# can this same be used for EP as well? To use it in ax I need to check and get back.

Hi Punett,

I think this will not work in EP. You need an ASP web control for that.

This seems to be a Windows.Forms control. Not sure if you actually can use this in the normal client in an ax form using a ManagedHostControl.

Hi..

I guess it can be possible , but little bit tricky ,

not sure ,hope it helps u.....

1) Use report if your requirement is only to inform abt the course.

2) If not , then ASP.net control can helps you as previously said and that can be possible only within from Ax client even if it Windows form.

Has anyone used the calender control on EP before? I want to use it for worker absence registration/view purpose.

There is a requirement to present organization leave data to all workers in a form of calender so that any worker goes for applying an absence in EP, he or she can view who else are on the leave on the same date and as a Manager it would be helpful to view who all are on leave in my hierarchy on a particular day.

It can be even ok if we can present it like Matrix where rows shows employee's name and column shows all days of the month user selects to view the absence data.
