Field change email alert

Hi,
I want my CRM application to trigger email alert when any 5 fields in a case are updated. We have "record field change" option in workflow, but my email content should say the case title has been updated (when title is updated), case priority has been updated (when it is updated). I do not want a generic message when any 5 fields are updated, rather i want message mentioning the specific field that has been updated.

Is it possible to achieve in a single workflow.

    Hi,

A plugin might be  better option if you have skills. you can check which fields have been changed and set the email text accordingly. Have a look at this https://social.microsoft.com/Forums/ar-SA/98d2c305-d244-4939-95b8-8e9f13a6b141/crm-2011-how-to-find-dirty-fields-in-plugin-update-using-post-image?forum=crmdevelopment

You can also call custom workflow activity when any of this field change and the logic can rest in it.

I would suggest a plugin, rather than a workflow or even 5 workflows. A workflow can be deactivated, or waiting for resources, where as a plugin will fire on update. You can also check what the title was and what the title changed to and include that into the email. This is really easy to do and will only be a few lines of code. I can assist if you like

    Hi Nagarajan,

The best option for this would be a plugin which will send email based on the field value changed.

You can also include the Old value and the New value in your email using plugin.

Sample of email sending through plugin can be found in the SDK

    SDK\SampleCode\CS\BusinessDataModel\Activities

    Hope that helps

    Thanks
