I have a question about assigning a Sales responsible person to a customer as default
E.g Customer C001 has been assigned a employee responsible and when ever we make a Sales order this employee responsible should automatically appear on the Sales Order as Sales Responsible.
While its now appearing from user relation rather than Customer level employee responsible
Do let me know if this is Bug?If not let us know business logic behind it

Hi Sagar Suman,
Thanks for the confirmation!
Funny how such small issue can mislead you and start doubting yourself.
Thanks for your valuable time spent.
Best regards,
Harold.
Hi Harold Boxtel,
Thats how it is coded to work.
Sales responsible does not update from customer master and both sales taker and sales responsible are updated from user employee setup on the user.
Every client makes a small change to update employee responsible on customer master to be updated to sales responsible on sales order.
You are right and are doing nothing wrong and will have do the the change if this is important for you else live with it.
Hi All,
I know this is an old post, but perhaps still valid?
In Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations (8.1) PU20 I setup an employee and linked this to my user account.
On a customer record I have setup another employee as Employee responsible.
When I create a new sales order the fields Sales taker and Sales responsible are updated with the worker record linked to my user account.
I would expect 'Sales resonsible' on the order header to be defaulted from the value in the 'Employee responsible' field on the customer record.
Am I missing something, or is this a bug?
Thx,
Harold.
O yes, it's correct set up. The employee "belongs" to the same legal entity where he operates.
Is the employment version created in the relevant legal entity?
Lovely, thx for a quick answer.
We have thou this already set up.
You will need to go to Organization administration > Users and then link the employee relation by selecting the employee from the dropdown.
I've tried to follow the answers below but it doesn't work for me. What exactly do I have to do with a employee responsible so that the namn will "end" up on the customer order? We use AX 2012 R3.
Hi Setiaji,
Thanks for your guide.
It works!
I set up the relation and the Employee responsible able to default to Sales Order header.
Thanks
Hi Jie, I'm pretty sure that when we were looking at this some time ago the Sales taker defaults from the login user's User relation, but Sales responsible didn't default on to the sales order header from the Customer; so we did that as a customisation. But it was a long time ago (AX 2012 RTM) so the system could be behaving differently in your version. But if it isn't doing what you want, it's a simple customisation.
