Deploy AIF wrong version in web config

We have just made and upgrade from AX2012 R2 to AX2012 R3(cu8), and we did follow the upgrade guide and everything seems to Works fine until...

I would deploy some AIF (customer, but also on others) , on the web i get and error that it can't find

 name="clientEndpointBehavior"
            type="Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Services.Host.ClientEndpointBehaviorExtension, Microsoft.Dynamics.IntegrationFramework.WebService.Process, Version=6.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"   />

If i do change it to 6.3.0.0 it Works perfect, until Next time someone deploy it...

I have look under

bin\XppIL\AppShare\ServiceGeneration\Customer\webconfig under the aos server and them it stand wrong with 6.2.0.0

I did try to delete the folder, redeploy, and still 6.2.0.0

I also did look at  :WebReferenceGenerator.config , and they it say <add assembly="Microsoft.Dynamics.IntegrationFramework, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35" />

So that should be fine,, So anyone know where it find the 6.2.0.0 reference

    Hi Kenneth,

    I think this comes from a default config template within the ressources of the Microsoft.Dynamics.IntegrationFramework.dll

    in the R3 version (should only be one over all Hotfixes) 6.3.164.0 - even in the CU9 installation

    there is an

    <add name="clientEndpointBehavior" type="Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Services.Host.ClientEndpointBehaviorExtension, Microsoft.Dynamics.IntegrationFramework.WebService.Process, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"   />

    I think in the R2 version of that dll is the other template with 6.2.0.0?

    Did you check if you have different versions (maybe some old) of that dll?

    Maybe something comes from the database and replaces this afterwards, but I don't know.

    sorry and regards

    Douglas

    Hi Kenneth,

    some addon: Have checked the R2 version: here is the

                   <add name="clientEndpointBehavior" type="Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Services.Host.ClientEndpointBehaviorExtension, Microsoft.Dynamics.IntegrationFramework.WebService.Process, Version=6.2.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"   />

    entry.

    But: The R2 dll which I have installed is newer (from date) than the R3 dll. So maybe it wasn't updated correctly. ???????

    regards

    Douglas

    hi Again, is that in the webconfig you are looking ?

    Another problem i did ran into was the reporting service also did look at the 6.2 in the webconfig.

    But did find this Work around:

    technet.microsoft.com/.../hh389762.aspx

    So what i am looking for right now, is to know where it get the refferance in when it build the webconfig files.

    I have also look at the gacutil, and see Windows\assembly that they are only the 6.3.164.0 installed

    i did open the dll file:

    behaviorExtensions>

                   <add name="clientEndpointBehavior" type="Microsoft.Dynamics.Ax.Services.Host.ClientEndpointBehaviorExtension, Microsoft.Dynamics.IntegrationFramework.WebService.Process, Version=6.3.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35"   />

                   <!--%BEHAVIOR_EXTENSIONS%-->

    it seems fine, so it is not from they.

    sorry. no idea at the moment. I don't know even where to look. Ax Database, .net temporary stuff / caching...

    Maybe you're going to find the cause and post yout results here again. I think other members will run in a similar trouble sometime.

    regards and sorry again - should only be a glue

    Ok after some debug i did find out it use the data from the table AIFWcfConfiguration, on the field Serverwcfconfiguration, did change that to 6.3.0.0 then it Works perfect

    Thanks Kenneth for giving us this information.

    Is this a general case? Does this mean you have to do this in all cases for an update from R2 (R1) to R3.

    In that case this should be worthy of having an notice within the upgrade guide.

    regards

    Not sure, but i do it another run this weekend and we see.

    But i think it is a common problem, since all my pre and data upgrade script did ran with out any problem
